SUMMER IN THE CITY DIFFERENT
It's summer again in Santa Fe. Once again, we have been named one of the five top travel destinations in the U.S.! We are the perfect place to visit if you want to feel as though you have gotten away, but not had to go far from home. With our unique architecture, tri-cultural heritage, wonderful arts, and gorgeous high-altitude setting, we really do live up to the name "The City Different."
In a way, I can't believe it's summer already. I think the last time I wrote for this blog might have been a year ago. Well, clearly blogging has not been my forte thus far. But I feel very excited that help has arrived in the form of Don Jaramillo, who will be helping me get this website in top shape. Don is an up-and-coming designer and will also be working on the showroom floor. So, please stop by and introduce yourself to him and bring him your home furnishing quandaries. He has lots of good ideas and will be eager to help.
More changes are in store on the showroom floor. I am pleased to announce the incorporation of a new boutique, Aquila Designs. Aquila will be bringing her unique designs for living into Victoria Price Art & Design on August 7--which will coincide with the opening of the new body of work by painter Tom Berg, Common Objects. Please join us for our opening night reception from 5 - 7PM on August 7.
And that is just the beginning. . .But you will have to wait to see what other changes are in store--new collaborations and new product lines. And they will all be announced electronically. Very exciting!
As for me, I have been very busy, and very grateful to be so busy. This year I have been to Dallas (five times to work on a large remodel project), Atlanta (to work with the Interior Design department at SCAD), Savannah (to work with the Industrial Design department at SCAD), Santa Barbara (another remodel), and in the coming months I will have more trips to Dallas, Denver, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and Savannah!
Here at home, this seems to be the year for kitchen remodels. I have just completed two wonderful, modern kitchens, and am working on three more! I think that all of us are enjoying home much more these days--and are trying to spruce up where we live. In addition to these remodels, I am working with clients all over town on their homes, with projects in Monte Sereno, Bishops Lodge Estates, Camino Cruz Blanca, South Capitol, 800 East, Cerro Gordo, and a few projects in lovely Tesuque. I feel so blessed to have so many creative projects and wonderful people in my life.
On top of that, I taught a Residential Interior and Architectural Design class at Santa Fe Community College. My students were incredible, and it was a highlight of my year so far.
So, I hope to be more on top of this whole blogging thing, with Don's help. In the meantime, please stop by the store and see all of our new items from Cassina, Moroso, Kartell, Lauren Sanders, Be Sweet, and many more.
And have a wonderful summer!
