Victoria Price Art & Design Opens Joyful Adornment: Our Home & Body Holiday Show
SANTA FE—Victoria Price Art & Design opens Joyful Adornment: Our Home & Body Holiday Show with a 5-7 p.m. opening reception Friday, Nov. 30, at the gallery, 1512 Pacheco St. in Pacheco Park.
Joyful Adornment features new work including paintings, photographs and glass sculpture by gallery artists Tom Berg, Matthew Chase-Daniel, Alexandra Eldridge, Stacy Hawkinson, Kate Joyce, Ira Lujan, Robert “Spooner” Marcus and Nancy Hidding Pollock. Gallery jewelers Kristin Lora, Pat Pruitt and Bunny Tobias will exhibit new custom jewelry. Ceramics by Bunny Tobias also will be included.
Popular Santa Fe jeweler and metal smith Kristin Lora will debut her new line, Flirt!, in Joyful Adornment. Flirt! includes necklaces, bracelets and earrings, incorporating long, multiple chains with lava, onyx, agate and other stones. Flirt! is glamorous and sexy, and especially appropriate for holiday wear and giving. Lora will be featured in an upcoming episode of HGTV’s That’s Clever!, and her jewelry is in a newly published book, Felted Jewelry.
Pat Pruitt joined Victoria Price Art & Design in August. His unique stainless steel jewelry has been featured this year in major articles in the Albuquerque Journal and New Mexico Magazine, and he recently won the Couture Jewelry 2007 Award, which he will receive at the Couture Jewelry Show in December in New York. Pruitt also won Best of Division for a stainless steel sculpture at the 2007 Indian Market in Santa Fe.
Photographer Matthew Chase-Daniel, who creates photo-assemblages of landscapes, was featured in an eight-page article in the July-August issue of Orion magazine.
Joyful Adornment hangs through Jan. 11, 2008. Winter gallery hours are 11-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 12-3 p.m. Saturday.
