Victoria Price is a designer, art historian, author, public speaker and screenwriter, and in 2003 became an entrepreneur as well, when she purchased the former Dewey Galleries, one of the world's preeminent historic Native American galleries. As the owner of Victoria Price Art & Design, Price offers contemporary art by regional and national artists; these are exhibited in her gorgeous gallery space alongside home furnishings by such notable companies as Cassina, Kartell, Angela Adams, and Kenzo. Victoria Price Art & Design offers interior design services and art consultation to those who appreciate authentic Santa Fe style and sophisticated modern design.
The gallery is also home to The Victoria Price Collection, art-based products for the home and individual created by New Mexico artists and designers, including Victoria herself. Victoria’s own designs exemplify the blending of a modern aesthetic with regional influences, and often use sustainable products.
Victoria Price Art & Design is located in Pacheco Park, a complex of design-related businesses centrally located in Santa Fe.
Prior to becoming a gallery owner, Price appraised and sold art from estates and private collections through her company, Pentimento. A longtime resident of Santa Fe, Victoria also has taught at the University of New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands University, as well as the Philos School—an alternative arts and humanities school in Santa Fe that she helped to found. Victoria has a bachelor's degree in art history and theatre from Williams College, which has one of the most prestigious art history programs in the country, and she has completed the doctoral program in American Studies at the University of New Mexico.
Victoria also is a published writer: Her critically-acclaimed biography, Vincent Price: A Daughter's Biography, was published in 1999 by St. Martin's Press. She has also written for The New York Times, A&E’s Biography, and many other national magazines, newspapers, and television programs. Victoria serves on museum boards in New Mexico and California and lectures on the arts throughout the country. She has appeared on numerous television and radio programs, including Good Morning America, A & E’s Biography, and Fresh Air. Articles about Victoria and her work have appeared in many national and international publications, such as USA Today, People, Hello!, Travel & Leisure, Art & Auction, and Western Interiors. She is currently in pre-production with Free Range Productions as an executive producer and the host of a new design and culture show called Design for Living.
